Spring Welcome 2025

Whether you are coming to the Forty Acres for the first time this spring or coming back after a (hopefully) relaxing winter break, join us for Spring Welcome, a series of events to welcome you to UT Austin and help you transition to your new University.

Events are created for all students to meet their peers, gain valuable resources, support overall well-being and celebrate UT traditions!

Welcome Bash

Monday, January 13

11 a.m.-1 p.m.  

Location: PCL Corner

We are excited to welcome all students back to the first day of the spring semester! Grab coffee and a breakfast treat from 512 Brew Buss, and take your first-day of school pic.

Location: Union Quadrangle Room

Transfer Traditions Trivia

Tuesday, January 14 

5 – 6:30 p.m. 

Location: WCP Blackbox Theatre, 2.304 

How well do you know your UT Traditions?! We invite all Transfer and non-traditional students to swing by to compete for prizes, and connect with student groups, and eat an Austin-favorite, Amy’s Ice Cream.

Get Hooked on RecSports

Wednesday, January 15  

10 a.m. -2 p.m. 

Location: Gregory Gym  

Join RecSports on the Gregory Gym Plaza to learn about how you can move, play, explore, and learn while on the Forty Acres. Try a fitness challenge, or meet with students from one of our 40+ Sport Clubs. Whether it's your first semester on campus or your last, there's something for you!

Inside Gregory Gym, you can try the Climbing Wall using your free day pass or hop into our studios for a group exercise class when you claim your three free TeXercise class tickets.

Whatever you decide to do, all you'll need is your UT student ID or My RecSports QR code on your mobile device.

Late Night Film Series: Perks of Being a Wallflower

Neurodiversity Welcome Mixer

Thursday, January 16

4 – 5:30 p.m.  

Location: SSB 3.200

Join us for this come-and-go event to celebrate the start of the semester. Stop by and bring your friends for an afternoon full of snacks, crafts, and games, including group geoguessr and special interest tier list ranking. This event is open to campus and is designed for students who identify as neurodivergent.

Location: Texas Union Theatre

Saturday Night is a biographical comedy-drama about the 1975 premiere of NBC’s Saturday Night, later known as Saturday Night Live.  This movie, free to students, is brought to you by E+E Showtime.
