Experiential Orientation: Longhorn Local

TEXPO: Longhorn Local* is an experiential orientation program open to incoming students each session. Participants will be introduced to life in Austin and will experience life beyond campus by enjoying local foods and exploring city landmarks, including Austin Central Library and the Congress Avenue Bats. While learning about life in Austin, students will form strong bonds with their peers, easing the transition to their new “home”.

Explore one of Austin's most famous sites through a competitive photo hunt and opportunity to shop in iconic SOCO stores (spending money is encouraged).

Austin Central Library 

Cool off in Austin's beautiful downtown library and learn about all that this local gem has to offer.

Dinner at a local restaurant

Bat Boat Tour

Learn about Austin's skyline, history of the city and our famous Congress Avenue Bats.



Cost: The cost of Longhorn Local is $105. This fee covers all lodging, transportation, activities, and meals for Longhorn Local.
