Your Family Orientation program has been designed to be as informational and helpful as possible. Our goal is to provide you with the resources you need to help your student succeed academically and find their place in the UT Austin community.
Here's a brief overview of what you can expect during your session:
You will participate in a College Meeting with your student's college or school, where you will learn more about college requirements and expectations, degree plans and what your child can expect as a student in that college/school. You must attend the meeting for the college/school your child has been accepted to for the incoming year. To see which colleges/schools will be presenting at which session, visit newstudentservices.utexas.edu.
There will be many opportunities to hear about programs, services, and resources throughout Family Orientation. Check out the Choice Sessions, listed on the Schedule-At-A-Glance, which include many campus resources for you and your student. The choice sessions also include campus tours to give you a chance to explore the 40 Acres, learn more about the campus and experience some of its traditions!
A Texas Sized Farewell
Your Orientation program will end with a chance to enjoy some live music, Austin treats, and some time with your student before you depart campus, and they continue their Orientation program.
